The Best Defence — Coverage for Underinsured Drivers
Did you know…
In BC, many people think that because third-party auto insurance is optional, they don’t need it. Nobody likes to pay for insurance they don’t use, and of course nobody ever thinks they’ll be in a crash, let alone the cause of one.
Unfortunately, that means there are often people involved in crashes with insufficient coverage for the catastrophic losses suffered, and not even by them — but by someone else.
If you or someone in your vehicle are hurt in a crash and suffer long-term health or income losses, and the other driver is underinsured, your basic Autoplan and any extended, third-party insurance may not cover all your medical costs, rehabilitation or lost wages.
Consider Extension Underinsured Motorist Protection (UMP), offered exclusively through Autoplan brokers. Extension UMP covers listed drivers and all household members in the covered vehicle, as well as when walking, cycling, or in a vehicle other than your own.
Find out more about Extension UMP from your nearest AllWest Insurance broker, or call us for more information.
We stay on top of all the ICBC auto insurance rules, and would be happy to help you make sure you have the coverage you need.
